We provide opportunities to learn about the history, design and development of gardens. We arrange visits to gardens across Shropshire and beyond from May to September each year. We particularly enjoy discovering gardens that are not well known. In the winter, we meet for talks in the comfort of the Wildlife Trust's spacious conference room on Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury.
Improve your wellbeing with the Shropshire Parks & Gardens Trust. Join us to get out and about to enjoy the benefits of garden visiting, making friends and helping your community.
Historic parks and gardens are key components of our environment and take many forms, including public parks, the grounds of historic houses or where they once stood, gardens around public buildings, cemeteries and town squares. All of these are landscapes that have been purposefully designed. The Shropshire Parks & Gardens Trust is consulted on all planning applications in the county that affect designed landscapes and gardens in Shropshire.
We are actively engaged in conserving, researching, documenting and caring for our heritage of parks, gardens and designed landscapes as part of The Gardens Trust , a national organisation representing 32 individual county Gardens Trusts
Parks and gardens can be works of art. They may be of special historic, horticultural, architectural, scientific or scenic interest. Shropshire's Parks and Gardens give much pleasure, improve well being, protect wildlife and biodiversity and provide great value to our communities.
