Historic Houses Association - Capability Brown Trail

To commemorate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown this year the Historic Houses Association have launched an online Capability Brown Trail.

Shropshire Parks and Gardens Lecture 'Arley - A Garden for All Seasons'

Gordon Baillie, the Head Gardener of Arley Hall and Gardens, will give us an insight into the plants and planting schemes as well as a'behind the scenes' account of the maintenance and planning involved in this very significant garden, home to probably the first herbaceous border.

The Gardens Trust - London Winter Lecture Series 2016

The first lecture in this series on 17th February is by Keir Davidson, landscape designer and writer, who will trace the newly identified phases of development of the landscape at Woburn by a succession of Earls and Dukes of Bedford, and the architects and garden designers involved.

Two new books to be published shortly will celebrate the life and work of the renowned 18th century landscape architect Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in his Tercentenary year.

Out There: Our Post-War Public Art Exhibtion

Out There: Our Post-War Public Art Exhibition is Historic England's first major exhibition looking at the story of post-war public art created between 1945 and 1985. In the East Wing Galleries at Somerset House from February 3rd to April 10th.
